ANTI-TRAFFICKING AND MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT

ANTI-TRAFFICKING AND MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT

OUR COMMITMENT TO ETHICAL STANDARDS

The Adult Film Association of America (AFAA) and its 10 members production companies (Carolco Pictures, Essex Pictures, VCA Pictures, Vivid Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Digital Valen, Calvista Films, Platinum Pictures, RKO Pictures and Cannon Films) maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding human trafficking, modern slavery, forced labor, and any form of coercion within the adult entertainment industry.

AFAA and its member companies are fully committed to upholding the highest standards of transparency, human rights, ethical conduct, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations across their operations, business relationships, and distribution channels.

SCOPE OF APPLICATION

This statement applies directly to AFAA and its ten founding member studios. AFAA and its member studios hold themselves, their corporate partners, independent producers, casting agents, vendors, and affiliated distributors to rigorous ethical standards designed to protect all performers and industry workers from exploitation, trafficking, forced labor, and coercion.

KEY PRINCIPLES AND COMPLIANCE MEASURES

  • Strict Age and Identity Verification: All member studios enforce mandatory document-verification procedures. Every performer must present valid, government-issued photo identification confirming that they have reached the applicable legal age before participating in any production.
  • Consent and Voluntary Participation: AFAA member studios require all work to be performed voluntarily and without coercion. Any form of physical, psychological, or financial coercion, force, fraud, or undue influence is strictly prohibited and may result in termination of the applicable business relationship and, where appropriate, reporting to the relevant authorities.
  • Supply Chain Due Diligence: AFAA and its member studios seek to evaluate vendors, independent producers, and business partners to ensure that their activities are consistent with applicable anti-trafficking laws and recognized human rights standards, with the aim of preventing exploitation throughout the production and distribution process.
  • Fair Compensation: Performers and crew members working with AFAA member studios are entitled to fair, transparent, and timely compensation in accordance with the terms agreed upon prior to production and applicable law.

REPORTING AND WHISTLEBLOWING

AFAA and its member studios provide appropriate reporting channels through which performers, employees, business partners, and third parties may raise concerns regarding potential violations of this statement, labor abuses, trafficking, coercion, or other suspicious or unlawful activities. Reports and concerns are reviewed promptly and, where appropriate, investigated thoroughly. Corrective measures or legal action may be taken based on the circumstances and applicable law.

GOVERNANCE AND REVIEW

This statement is reviewed periodically by AFAA leadership and the appropriate compliance or management personnel of its member studios to promote continued alignment with applicable legal requirements, human rights principles, and recognized industry best practices.
